Well, that’s official.
I would be a horrible shoe designer.
Unless it was for Cher or Gaga, who seem to continually succeed in embracing glitz with style. I wanted to try doing some pattern with only quins & dragees, and this is what came of it — I wasn’t really intending it to be an interpretation of outer space. I definitely did not foresee the meteor shower effect when I was “artfully” arranging all the dragees on the toes.
On a happier note, I bought a pair of black booties. They’re plain and classy, much unlike the cookie…upon which I seemed to have vomited sprinkles. Twice.
But hey! It’s a cookie, not a real shoe. I just wanted it to look fun!

I don’t know if anyone else has this problem, but I find it VERY difficult to purposely arrange things to make it look random.

I used two sizes of silver dragees, a large green one, and the tiny white dots are nonpareil.
Happy Fall Season! Time to buy new clothes.
over & out ♥

your black royal icing is awesome! do you use paste food coloring?
Thanks!! Yes, I do use the paste kind. I use Wilton, but I heard Americolor (the one that comes in tiny squeeze bottles) works just as well too.
I totally agree on the fact that it’s uber hard to make things look random if you arrange them with that purpose in mind.
lol I’m glad someone else feels this way!
You may not think you’re a shoe designer, but I know several people who would pay good money for those if they were real shoes! Great job.
I kept looking at tastespotting thinking, “Why is there a shoe??”
Then I read the description.
Either I’m tired, or you’re a better shoe designer than you though!
but i agree about the random thing… it only works when it’s truly random.
yes! i kept thinking, gotta make it random, gotta make it random…and every time it turned out looking super organized.
I saw this on tastespotting and seriously thought it was a real shoe. Great job – it looks awesome!
thank you! hahaha it must have seemed so out of place, a shoe on tastespotting!
I seriously thought it was a real shoe too. I was thinking, “why in the WORLD would someone put a picture of their shoe on TasteSpotting?!”
Looks amazing!

lol! thank you for the comment Megan!
Oh very cool! It’s really well done. I love the nonpareils on the tip of the shoe. I think they’re beautifully placed, if you were worried about it.
Thank you! I think that might have been the hardest part!
Wow, edible shoes. With me being a shoe-a-holic I just had to view this.
Well done, it looks fabulous.
Thank you! Glad I was able to please a shoe-a-holic!
these are real cute shoe cookies. even if you think you arent a very good shoe designer, you are a pretty good shoe cookie maker:) they are adorable!
thanks amy! lol yeah, I don’t know if I can rock these in real life but at least it came out OK as a cookie
Love this! :~D
Thank you Valerie!!
It’s a very pretty shoe actually. How can you say that you’re a horrible designer?
lol thank you!
I had been looking at the NYT’s coverage of the Chanel show in Paris and had to laugh when I saw your shoe when I flipped over to Tastespotting… great work… absolutely charming. I can see these appearing at fashion gatherings this fall!
thanks deana! I flipped through their spring ’11 runway images at ny mag’s The Cut a couple days ago…what I would give to see a runway show live!
