Feeling the end of summer approach is heartbreaking. It’s a combination of my love of southern california summer and my absolute loathing for winter. Being cold is a miserable feeling, and waking up when the sky is still dark isn’t quite as uplifting as waking up to a bright, sunny morning. Rolling out of bed, stepping out of the shower, pumping gas … all are things that become excruciatingly difficult when it’s cold.
If I had the means, I would spend my year globe-trotting, chasing summer, never letting winter catch up to me.

for the ice cream cone cookies:
royal icing in all flavor colors, plus brown for the cone
colored fondant for the “topping”
order of piping:
1. outline & fill the ice cream scoop
2. outline & fill the sugar cone
3. once the surface is dry, pipe the “syrup” topping
4. pipe the criss-cross on the cone
5. add fondant decoration

These are so cute! And I completely agree with you about the winter thing–I walk around campus with a scowl on my face without even knowing it when it’s cold outside haha. I ordered some of your cookie cutters for rush this year and the cookies turned out great. Just saw this pop up on Tastespotting and I’m not remotely surprised you have more adorable cookies posted on the site! Love them!
LOL yes, that’s how I spent my winter days on campus too. Sometimes I skipped class JUST because it was raining — harsh conditions for a so cal girl, right? Thanks for ordering the cookie cutters!! Hope your rush went/goes great
omg these are so cute! must be very time consuming with all the waiting for the icing to dry, though. more power to you!

hi kim,
Thanks! It was definitely a feat trying to make these suckers, lol. I like your blog btw! Great photos
So cute! I just tried decorating cookies for the first time last week, and it did not go nearly so well. You’ve inspired me though
Hi Megan!
Oh my gosh, the first time for me was an utter disaster! I think I ended up bringing meatballs to potluck because my cookies were so horrible. Don’t worry though, it won’t take long til you get the hang of it!
Those are the cutest cookies EVER!
Thank you Brilynn!!
These are super cute and look yummy!
Thanks Erika! Btw, i love the name of your blog. AMEN to that!
OH OH OH! You are an amazing baking freak! Your tutorials are rockin’ my world. Just watch me go… I have 50 bazillion cookie cutters and not a Kappa or Delta in sight! Gonna have to order some soon.
Big love to the Hello Kitty items. and ROBOTS!!!
I am a preschool teacher and several of my 9 students are robot crazy. We are working on a robot in class made from recycled items! Hoping to make him/her a useful robot for art supplies!
Keep filling the world with creative love and cuss girl like there’s no tomorrow!
Peace, Jamie
